We all know about it at this point. Short article in the Valley News, though front page, but it sounded like the police were withholding information about what happened (not that they shouldn’t for now). Like the decent people living there don’t already have enough troubles?
It was nice to read that the Red Cross and a church are helping out for now. Hopefully others will step forward to help them. Does anyone know if a fund has been started to help?

Trinity Evan Free contacted me with the following info yesterday:
Their church is collecting smaller items for the victims:
Pots, pans, glasses, lamps, linens, including 2 sets of queen size sheets, full and twin.
Contact Marian Barr, the church secretary at 802-674-6781.
Larger items are being collected by someone named Marian at Americorp. 802-535-6069. Mattresses, a crib mattress, dressers, etc. are needed. They will be stored at the Armory, from what I’ve been told.
Two families are looking for apartments to live in, not wanting to return to the Armory. Call Trinity or Americorp for any additional info.

They must be taking donations of clothing?

I am sure they are. Marion will probably know sizes. Also I understand the folks that run “Our Community Thrift Shop” across the street are very generous with donating stuff that the burned-out residents at Armory Square need, and clothing may come into that category too. Wonderful to see Windsor citizens lending a helping hand …
