Windsor Area Outing Club May Activities
[From Kris Garnjost via email, with permission]
Just a quick reminder about the walks coming up. Please pass the word around to your friends and family. Everybody deserves a good walk in the woods. Attached is a flier if you have some place to put it up. I have done many places, but unfortunately they don’t always stay up.
Also, all hikes will be rain or shine. If it’s really pouring at the time of the beginning of the hike, we may have to reassess. Some of my best walks have been in the rain. Colors are often more vibrant when it’s damp than they are on a bright sunny day. And you might even get lucky and catch a rainbow if the sun comes out.
Windsor Area Outing Club May Activities
May 18 – Adult Walk Thru Paradise – A Ramble on the back trails in Paradise Park for Adults and Teens. A fairly strenuous walk (2hrs. +) with a lot of ups and downs on less familiar trails that most don’t know about. Leaving @ 12:30pm from the County Rd. Park Entrance.
May 24 – Family Walk on Mt Ascutney – An easy hike up to the abandon Norcross Quarry on Mt. Ascutney. Bring the whole family and enjoy the views and a little slice of local history. A group will continue to The Knee Overlook as well. Leaving at 11am from the Brownsville Trail Head (1 ½ hr round trip). A caravan/carpool will leave the Windsor Rec. Ctr @ 10:45.
Thanks for your interest and assistance,
Kris
